Ascension St. Vincent YMCA

The YMCA of Southwestern Indiana was looking to renovate their existing facility in Downtown Evansville, IN. As the Design-Build team reviewed the design and construction costs for renovation, it became apparent a new facility could be constructed for a better value. In addition, the new athletic facility allowed for a community health care clinic and rehabilitation center to be included in the space and serve the growing needs for health care services downtown.

Our team was selected to provide a Design-Build approach for this new two-story, 80,000 SF facility. We provided pre-construction and design services for the facility as well as our team served as the construction manager/ general contractor and self-performed the concrete, structural steel, pre-cast erection, and the general trades packages.

This new facility was designed and built with expanded, modernized, and more efficiently designed spaces including:

• Multi-use gymnasium with basketball courts, volleyball courts, pickleball courts, and elevated running track
• Six-lane 25-meter lap pool with viewing area and associated equipment rooms
• Men’s and women’s locker rooms and family changing rooms
• Community outreach spaces
• Cardiovascular exercise and weight lifting areas
• Separate studio spaces for cycling, aerobics, hot yoga, and aerial yoga
• Administrative corporate offices
• Ascension St. Vincent healthcare clinic and rehabilitation center
